Good run in Stockholm
Leaving Stockholm in cloudy weather. Had a very nice stay with a lot of meetings as well as birthday celebration and other family hangouts. I have enjoyed not traveling very much so far this year. Which made this trip ever so much more enjoyable.
The heat
Working abroad for a couple of weeks. Even though I was in Thailand less than a year ago, the heat is strikingly intense. After a few days you get used to it and start to love it. The food and nice people also helps. And having fun hanging out with my friends and colleagues too.
Heading further north
Heading for a conference a few hundred kilometers north west of Stockholm. It’s not very far north but farther north than where most people live in Sweden anyhow. It strikes me how few people we have per square kilometer in this country.. It is very relaxing though to glide through the fields and forests.
Back in Sweden – and two weeks in Stockholm

Freezing but beautiful. It’s nice to be back in good old Sweden. Very nice to be able to hang out with my sister and brother and their families and blessed to have a place to stay in Stockholm.
Work continues and I have the opportunity to work “in office” of one of my customer organizations. As much fun as it is working from home or from another country, it is also very rewarding, at least for a change, to meet the people you are working with and actually handle some physical goods.
This weeks challenge… sending out around 2000 letters to members of one of my customers organisations.
Time flies so fast
The day finally came when I had to say goodbye to my friends in V Residence. A little bit sad of course since I have gotten attached to this place after having stayed here for almost two months.
After the two hour bus ride I landed at my hotel in Bangkok and then had some time for shopping at the big shopping centers in Siam area (MBK and Siam Paragon).
Two months is quite a good amount of time to try a new environment out. I will write more about it soon and also post some unpublished photos from my trip (my visit to Koh Lan amongst others).
Tomorrow I will be back in Sweden if everything goes to plan. It will surely feel a bit strange to b back in the colder climate etc but on the other hand really great to be seeing friends and family again.
Officially declared “good guy” for 30 more days
Receipt of visa fee. The extension of 30 days cost 1900 Baht (around 55 USD, a little under 2 USD a day)
Pretty straight forward. And reasonable too I think.. 🙂 Maybe we should have the same sign in Sweden at immigration? What do you think?
Second visit to immigration and finally everything was I order. Phew, quite a bit of paperwork and about an hour in total at the premises. Also more people today than I had expected. I had heard that it would be pretty calm in the afternoon.. But I’d say that it was quite a lot of people wanting to extend their visas in different forms.
Anyhow, very happy to have my 30 more days to be able to stay here in this lovely country.
Visa renewal
The mandatory visa renewal that I planned today. I missed one detail though, the copy of my contract of rent from the apartment.. So a new round tomorrow in other words.. 🙂 good thing I went one day before the expiration of my current visa period. 
Taking a look around, and eating delicious food
In the basement floor of the Maya shopping center there is a kind of food court with really low priced and delicious food. This meal was just 55 Bath, just above 1.5 USD.
Korean food, don’t know if I ever tried that before, but it was just about the most delicious thing I ever tasted
